| | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | I've tried a half dozen AM xmitters, built all except one and best one out of all of them was the "Radio DJ" kids toy transmitter with a built in cassette tape player. They used to sell them at Toys-R-Us but I haven't seen them in years. The next best was an SStran AM transmitter kit, ran about $100 and u-build it. The others were hobby kits like the one your looking at, a couple of scratch built, a couple of kits from AES and all were very erratic and almost impossible to tune. And that sitting on the bench in the house not bouncing around in a truck cab and with 1w output to boot.
