Interesting trans. It will be a challange to drive, but yet a lot of fun. I'm sure the owner will give you some pointers if you are not very familiar with it. You really won't need all the gears just to get it home, but you will need to use them when carrying some weight.
Sounds like a "Pulling Tandem" (All 8 rear wheels will drive when needed off road).
