sounds like you are sucking air and cavitating the pump. Check your fluid level. If you did not bleed it prior to checking fluid, when you turned the wheel, it moved the servo off center and started filling the rest of the sytem. If that is the case, then you simply need to add more fluid. however you could have a bad pump as well.
