Is there a particular reason you are looking at using the LT1? I have a 96 Z28 with an LT1 and it is THE worst 350 ever made, more specifically because of the optispark distributor. My car has around 140K on it and it is having all sorts of ignition issues, oil leaks etc and the car has been babied and they are mostly highway miles. So if you are still on the fence I would recommend another engine choice if at all possible. There are some really affordable LS1s out there from older trucks, they are a great powerplant and they have coil packs
