I use this trick I do not hook up the battery I use a 1 amp 12v battery charger you get the 12v but you do not get the 500-1000 amps of a good hot battery if you make a dead short, you do not get the smoke. Just hook the POS to the Pos Battery cable and the Neg to the Neg battery cable. With no battery. Works like a charm. Have fun! Now you know why they invented "Crown Royal Whisky" Later Sam T
