#49989 09/15/2005 5:12 AM | Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 67 Member | | Member Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 67 | thanks everybody, and gary I think I know what you mean about the oil...just my guess but the increased efficiency of the new head seems to cause even worse blowby at the rings...however after a couple more tries I think I have the valves dialed in just about right now and my search for a long block/crate motor at a reasonable price has just about concluded, but I am going to have to milk what I have now for a bit longer while I put back some bucks for the R&R eng job... best longblock price to my door from reputable outfit is just shy of a grand...the shipping and core are hard to get around...even buying it from the local Discount autos builders they are going to incorporate shipping into it...
