Ok.. there are three sets of numbers..
On the gearshift thing: 3731911 GM
On the tranny itself: GM 12 3830210
The numbers on the "tailshaft" i'll have to do some scrubbing with a wire brush to make out.
I manually ran the tranny thru the gears and it seems to be alright.. but it's longer than my current trans, and looks like it's designed for an "open ujoint" configuration.
This weekend i'll have a look at the '51 1/2 ton I got it out of and see what its driveshaft and rear look like.
I figured since the truck didnt have an engine and trans installed, that the engine and trans in the bed were the ones for it.. either that isnt the case, or somebody had rigged that trans to work.
