Following up after 180 some odd visits and 1 reply via PM. So I found a good info site as linked below. Gives all the specifics to measure up shocks and what to work toward for optimal performance. It is a 4X4 site but I went there becuase I know they often deal with shocking front and rear leaf springs and solid axles. Intersting, they even give information on shock location taking into consideration the location of shackle as well.
Good info. I have also built an Excel speadsheet that calculates the shock length requirements per the variables and such outlined. If interested, contact me via PM and I will get it to you. I will be mounting shocks and will take picts of the measuring as well as the fabricating/install process.
