exactly the stuff we get from the sheetmetal shop here called "satin body metal", which was discussed awhile back, and I've since found is
galvanneal, that has been
bonderized, meaning surface treated in a phosphate bath .... ready for paint as-is, if it isn't too scratched up it only needs to be cleaned with grease n wax remover
