If you are fussy about it, you will find that the hammered affect varies with how it is applied. You can only keep a certain size of area "wet" at one time to allow it to flow together. On the other hand the bumpy texture tends to hide imperfections. I think the finish was originally intended to look good but absorb some rough service. I have seen lab equipment with a similar finish. | | |
