Thanks so much for the feed back. Randy and Scott win! The question I have is, did I? It is exactly what Scott described.
Running the gears; Reverse is far LEFT & FORWARD, First is straight back from Reverse, Second & Fourth are FORWARD, Third & Fifth are BACK. First gear is about 3.25:1, Fifth gear is about .75:1
My application is 1954 3100 with 283CI and it currently has an Sm420 with enclosed drive shaft. I can live with the light duty and the gear ratios, but I belive the shifter location is a real problem....isn't it too far back and interfear with the "tub" and seats? So my question is; will the tailsection from a T5 work on a T50?
I'll get some pics posted. Thanks
