Yep a really good idea, following and old map like that. I would like to try that, dont know if it would work around here though, So Cal - L.A. area. But I think thats the way to do it though. I have done a couple 300+ mile trips in my COE, so far so good. Your way sounds much better though, I will try to plan better next time. Mt truck did fine, almost did not even get out a tool. Though I was amazed at how slow my progress was, kept looking at my watch thinking that cant be right :-)If I remember right it took us about 7 hours to do alittle more than 170 miles one way and yes I was ready to get out of the truck too!Curvy mountain roads, kept my speeds down for sure. I stopped maybe twice to stretch and was pretty intimidated, the truck handled it fine.
