I've seen the steering box moved outward to create clearance. Doing so might change the placement of the steering wheel, and will change the relationship of the pitman arm to the steering arms, meaning you'll need to make some adjustments.
Another option is the power steering conversion that puts a power steering box ahead of the axle. I think its the better option.
And then there are all the IFS options that include changing the steering too...
