I'm new to the truck world and I'm looking at buying a 1970 4x4. I'm trying to find out what transfer case(s) were avalible in the 1970 4x4's. Is the NP205 the only one? The vehicle I'm looking at is a 3/4 ton with a 292 and a 4 speed. It looks like a NP205; however, as I said I'm new at this.
Next question, the truck appears to be geared extremely low. If I were to buy it I'd be looking to improve this for every day use inlcuding highway use. Is the low gearing a traight of these trucks or can I assume this particular truck may just have extremely low gears. I have not found another 1970 to drive and compare it to.
Thank you for your time
