I am having my tie rod ends switched out to the newer style, this coming week end. What is nice about the newer style, is that you don't have to make any adjustments like the old style, PLUS it adds an extra 1/2" of clearance between the tie rod end and the wheel--great if you are using a larger wheel/tire as I am. Chevy Duty did not have the newer style in stock, so I was able to find them (and the tie rod) at Jim Carter. In addition to the tie rod and ends, I am also installing a new (rebuilt) steering box from Chevy Duty. Have that on hand with the other parts due in, in a couple days. After all the above is installed, it's off to the Alignment shop for a front end alignment---then I should notice a BIG difference in the steering! smile
