A 235 running @ 5000 RPM at 100% volumetric efficiency needs at least 340cfm. (VE x RPM x CID / 3456)
How fast will your 235 spin?
How efficient is you cylinder head and intake?
How aggressive is the cam?
That's probably why everyone is reporting good results with the 390 - 450 size carbs
