I'm still getting my new old fire truck into a driving condition taking care of a bunch of little things that seam to be popping up . Hopefully this week before the snow flys having to shade tree work on this . Well this last Sunday evening the local fire department flew - well more like fast crawled past my place up the hills to a residential fire . I was tempted to chase them but thought better or it .They got there and the pump would not pump so it took some time to get it to work and when they got it to work the trucks engine died and they could not get it started again - no engine no pump no water - BAD ! So they had to wait quite awhile for the next engine to get manned and to them . I saw one of the firemen and he told me that I needed to get my truck up and running so they could always have a quick backup until a Nice Big back up truck could be brought in . He was joking of course But Not really . Now when someone askes me what in the Heck
will I do with a fire truck I can say - I'll have it as a last ditch reserve back up fire truck for the community . Now could you just see my old 1950 fire truck coming to the rescue and holding a fire under control until a Newer one showed up to take over - Now that would be Sweet
