I was NAVSECGRU 1966-1970. Uncle Sugar sent me to Monterey CA during the "Summer of Love". Also saw Adak, AK and Japan.
4 days aboard the Bonnie [censored] as TDY was my only non shore duty.
Pretty tough gig.
UPDATE: Over the weekend I found my Navy paperwork. I spent 26 months in training followed by 18 months actually working. Huh?
Anybody know where I can get a hat that says "USS RELUCTANT AK601"?
