I'm not 100% sure if it's a direct swap into an AD truck, but the '57-'59 column is shorter. Perhaps you could swap the column tube and worm gear shaft? Another option, thoug it will increase steering effort if still manual, would be to run a smaller diameter steering wheel, perhaps one from a '58-'60 Impala.
