For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 35 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2007 Posts: 35 | Thanks I have the info on the 41-54 axles. There are some differences on the 41-54. Bigger kigpins (8.66 dia.) the 41-47 does not have a relief cut to get a socket on the U-bolt nuts but are the same as the 48-54 other then that . I drop axles and have customers wanting them to fit a 30's car. When I use the 41-54 I have to narrow them sometimes during the drop to make them the right width as the original for some early chevys. What I am needing is the info on changes for each year. That way if a guy wants a original 32 axle just like in his car I give him the right axle. I have a guy in New Zealand that wants a original 32 axle dropped. I'm not sure what that exact year looks like. I know one time I had a chevy axle that was bent back in the center like to clear a oil pan. Not for sure what year it was. I also know some years have a extra hole in the spring pad for the shock to mount to and some don't. I do want to Thank everyone for there help. It does help Thanks SID | | |
