Sid, as far as I know the 41-54 front axles are a bolt in change for the 30?- 40 front axles.
I got a dropped axle from you on ebay to put in my 1940 gmc. The advantage for me was the larger king pins, and the ability to bolt on the cpp disc brake kit.
I haven't mounted it in the chassis yet, but I am absolutely certain I won't have any issues with it. The axle looks great.
