Tab, you'll have to fab the linkage, but a 350cfm Holley 2300 is just about perfect for a stock 235. Some guys like a 500 cfm Holley 2300.
I ran one on a 54 235 3 speed on column (3.70 gears) with HEI and stock exhaust and achieved 20 mpg while keeping up with traffic around town.
If you don't already have an HEI on it, that is the best thing I ever did to a stovebolt. I just put a PCV setup on the '55 235 in my 39 1.5 ton and gained another mpg.
