I have a 54 Chevy 150 with a 235. I'm on my third carb. They all leak! The latest one seems to be leaking at the gasket between the top and bottom. I suspected the float was too high, but when I tok the top off, the fuel level was way lower than the mating surface. This is getting frustrating! I had read about porosity in old over cleaned carbs being a problem and wondered about that. Any ideas?
Also, if I go with a later model carb, what/who is a good route? This is a stock engine and I probably won't go anything more than mild street when I rebuild it someday.
Thanks for the help.
