I'm ignorant about this and need help please. I do old M/C carbs ..... but this new stuff ....

i believe i have crud inside my new edelbrock500 carb. while first starting my new engine and knowing that we have to run it for 20min @ 2grand to break in the new cam,
... i got crud'ed

and never have i taken one of these things apart, and the last time i did anything remotely like this I was in high schrool 30+ yrs ago ...... I could use some insite
i have removed the top of the carb after carefully undoing the linkage stuff. i can see some fine crud in the float bowls. i carefully soaked that up.

what's next ???????
I could not get gas to pump thru the carb to the jets. so what /how do i clean ... blow ??? the orfices out, how ?? I believe I should be able to place the spring and accel pump back in and that should pump gas to the jets. Correct?? if that passage is clogged .......
I'm at a loss guys and don't want to hurt or loose anything inside.
can i use a can of air to clean this ????

patiently waiting
thanks in advance. frown
