You gotta make sure that new shaft fits into the mechanism. It took me several tries to get it to work and fit. Also Make sure you have the locking part figured out before you install it too. I installed it and the door wouldn't lock or unlock with the key. Then I had to do it again to get it working. that gasket also seems to add depth which makes the shaftseem even shorter. Good luck!
