The door lock on my 51 chevy 1/2 ton no longer works. I think the tumblers inside the lock are worn out. I ordered a reproduction from jim carter. I can't seem to get the shaft on the lock to insert into the mechanism inside the door. The guts of the door work fine, I can insert a screwdriver and get it to work. The shaft on the lock almost seems too short compared to the original. Any pointers from someone who has done this before?
