Had a professional with many years experience come by to install mine this summer. He put the weatherstrip on the glass and then set the bottom in place and just kept working at it. Took him an hour and a half to do the job ( with my help)and lots of cursing. Said if he didn't know me he wouldn't have even come to do it. Claims the last truck he did that he broke 3 new windshields trying.

He said using the original weatherstrip makes it fairly easy but the new aftermarket weatherstrips seem to be a harder rubber.He also has found that these old trucks didn't all get built to the same tolerances and some windshield openings differ in size so much that sometimes the glass needs to be trimmed to fit properly.

My truck is getting close to completion and there is only two things I haven't done myself so far- pressing new bearings onto the rear axle shafts and installing the windshield.
