For a V8 I liked flowmaster mufflers.

For my diesel I just bought a 5" Magnaflow stainless steel one. It cost less than the regular steel 5" mufflers from the other folks and it even has a lifetime guaranty. We'll find out what it sounds like in a few weeks..
