I guess that's what they're called. 2 semi-circle sheets of metal on the bottom of the piston that rotate around the crankshaft. They're bearing of some sort, but im not sure which, and yes i replaced them. A lot of people said it was my carburetor causing the problem (had gas in my oil pan, truck was diesling after i shut it off and it smelled like gas really bad), but when about one cup's worth of antifreeze got into my rear cylinder when i pulled the head off...and it had seeped past the piston after 5 minutes, we figured i was due for a ring job. You think that's sufficient evidence?
