I finally got the dash back together and installed it back in my COE today! Progress is progress. Theres still a little bit of stuff to finish up and some more wires to hook back up, but Im almost done. Now if only the rest of my steering box parts could show up in the mail...
Before picture.After picture.I feel that the added backdrop of the hole and large crack in the windshield gives the dash a very 'refined' look.
Im not real happy about the repro knobs and hardware. The cowl vent knob slipped right on with plenty of wiggle so I mixed up a little JB Weld and set it on the handle that way. I figured the knobs should be a force fit dunked in hot water...
The choke and throttle knobs are to small to fit in the dash holes appropriately. And the knobs can still spin in their sheath, about 70 degrees or so, which sucks if you like to keep everything in line (read OCD on my part). Now they get cockeyed if you look at them wrong. Guess Ill have to keep my eyes peeled for a better set of cables and then buy a pair of knobs.
