Hy morton, as far as I know, up to the 55A series, there are no stock Chevrolets larger than 2 ton rating, there were some aftermarket conversions done by companies like Thornton to convert the single axle trucks to tandems, thereby raising their capacity. We in Canada are lucky, we had Chevrolets and Chevrolet Maple Leafs. Maple Leafs looked like Chevrolets, but were 2 1/2 ton and 3 ton rating, the 2 1/2 tons were Chevrolet powered, and the 3 tons were GMC powered [basically a GMC with Chevrolet sheet metal].
