The only stupid question is the one not asked! You'll want to hang on to those shims, they might need to use them depending on what the caster reading is. Alot will depend on how far you dropped the front compared to the rear, as that will affect overall caster readings. A little extra caster won't hurt though, as it will help stabilize the frontend, especially for highway driving.
