Very easy fix install a 350 or 400 slide member back a little to catch auto trans bolt into crossmember. Many of our better place sell the crossmember kit.

For now: open hood and you will see shift levers off of steering post. There should be 2 slides have somebody push clutch in and take slides and move should kick out of second (problay where you are stuck.

In the transmisssion there is plastic catches for second to third. They wear out back in the 60's most junk yards had them for 50 cents, trans removal and install was the time consuming part.

I would question the seller about speed shop rebuild because of the 2 barrell. Most speed shops install 500 or 650's in those 350's. 2nd question are you sure its a 350 might be a 305 wich was more common w/2barrell.
