A real 5 HP compressor motor will be rated 24-25 Amps and it will be at 1725 rpm. Toy compressors use 3450 rpm motors and use peak hp ratings. "Department store compressors", that's a cute name. Be sure and compare CFM at the same pressure.
3 phase motors are a lot cheaper if you can get the power to you.
