When I push the brake pedal on my '49 1/2-ton and then release it, I hear a loud "clunk"! The cause is obvious. The flat metal bar that connects the brake pedal to the master cylinder assembly (located inside the engine compartment) is striking the firewall when the pedal is released. So, my question is, is the brake supposed to sound this way, or am I missing some sort of rubber pad to dampen the noise??
