My engine builder wasn't all that excited about using Rotella T for the run-in. He recommended a good grade of 10-30 and I added a bottle of EOS from my local Chevy dealer.

His rationale was that with stock valve spring pressures, it was overkill to spring for the VR racing, and that the Rotella 15-40 would be a bit heavy. The EOS was available locally and I did use it.

After run-in....I did try the Rotella T for a while but have switched back to 10-30 after I had some hyd lifter noise at startup. I've only put 6000 miles on the engine but haven't had any problems with the 10-30 or oil consumption.
