I don't think that they would clear the brake drums, either.
GM (at least Chevy and Olds, not sure about Buick, Pontiac, and Cadillac) used the 6 lug wheels to '48 on Passenger, 2wd 1/2 tons to '70 (restarted w/6 lug in '99, all 1/2 tons, '88 on ligth 3/4 ton 2 and 4 wd) 4x4 1/2 tons '57 ('55 for GMC) to current. Also, pre-'47 3/4 tons used 6 lug as well. Most 6 lug Chevies (pre-'88) use 7/16" studs, '88 (GMT 400 chassis) to current use 14mm x 1.50 metric studs.
