OK, I will repeat my story here! I supported the axle with a screw jack on the side that I was working on, and pounded them down and out with a sledge hammer. I started using a deep hex nut as a drift but it was pretty soft. The road to success was to use a wristpin, but it is very hard so be sure and use eye protection. It took hours of pounding before it actually moved.
