I am now ready to start reassembling my 51 1/2 ton after a few years of setbacks.I've got the bare frame on jackstands in the garage aand am now ready to reinstall the 4 speed sm420. The transmission is lying on the floor. Can I install the bell ,the 4 shims, and the fastening collar to check for proper adjustment with the tranny just lying on the floor and not mounted on the frame? Probably a foolish question,but I want to do it right.Also the inside of the bell is scarred up somewhat, probably too bad to smooth with emery paper. Will it be ok to use it anyway or should I try to find a ggod one? If I need a better one where could I find one ? Thanks for your help in advance, you guys have helped me so many times in the past with things I knew absolutely nothing about. Elmer
