[Hoyt is reading the MPB correctly (below). I was not reading it correctly. The 1953 oil pan is the same as earlier years.]Be careful and look quite carefully at the depth of the pans and the oil pumps on each block. For some reason 1953 was a one-year oil pump, even for the 1953 babbitted-rod blocks. Maybe the oil pump pick-up tube/screen-head was at different heights for the two years that you have.
The alignment of the array of oil-spray nozzles/tubes should be the same.
