I'm on the final stretch now. It is really amazing how many small parts that you end up finding out that you need. The little things are killing me and nickle and dimeing me. A special bolt here and a special bracket there....then a fitting that has to be special ordered. It is killing me.
I dropped off my grille (upper and lower) a couple weeks ago. They should have it done by the 17th. WOW - what a shocker there. They gave me two options Chrome or show chrome. the difference came in the attention to detail they pay to the sides of each bar. the regular job $750 for top and bottom grilles does not polish the sides of each bar - only the front. For $1000 that is the show chrome where special attention is paid to all angles of the grille making all sides reflect real nicely off of each other.
That just kills me. As I seem to have done all the way through this one I went with the show chrome. I'll get photos out there when I get it back. I would hate to see what a grille set would cost that needed work. My upper was NOS and the lower was used but came off a fire truck that spent most of its life indoors.
I have lots of work to get done in the next three weeks if i am to be ready for the Beloit Autorama in September!@!!!. Hopefully I won't have too many small suprises left.
