I have a transmission that is a 3 speed floor shift. I have used it in several vehicles, and behind several engines, the biggest was built up GMC 270. I never had any of the shifting problems that plagued the column shifters. I think it was from a pickup truck back in the '30's, but I have adapted gears from a later model trans i.e. roller bearing cluster gear, synchromesh, etc.
