Just installed my rebuit axle/torque tube in my 51 1/2 ton chassis.
I ran a plumb line down the centerline of the chassis. The torque tube at the u joint end is off the centerline by about 3/4". After more measurements it looks like the rear axle is about 1/8" forward at the outside edge of one side. The rear axle is located properly on the rear spring spuds(clamping bolt head). These are original springs. Is this condition acceptable?? or is there a way to correct to get the torque tube directly inline. The u joint has enough movement to align the transmission to the torque tube.
The frame measures up square.
