Hy Tombstoneshadow, If it is out of a Maple leaf it could be a Chevy or a GMC engine. If it is out of a 2 1/2 ton Maple Leaf it will be a Chevy, if it's out of a 3 ton Maple Leaf it will be a GMC, likely a 248. 2 1/2 ton truck serial numbers should start 716----, 3 ton serial numbers start 717----, hope that helps.
