Reminds me of the time we managed to get a 396 into an early Nova. It took some cutting and welding. Ford Top Loader transmission and the shift lever leaned toward the passenger's side for some reason. Cardboard rear quarter windows and snow tires on the front. It paid for itself pretty quickly.
The hardest part was finding front springs. The first set we tried wouldn't give even with 300 pounds jumping up and down on the front bumper. I think we ended up with springs from an air conditioned 327 Chevelle.
