well after removing the lock assy I was able to start the truck for a few days with a pair of pliers while searching for a new lock set, then I found the culprit the inner mechanism in the tilt wheel, the gears that engages the the rod that runs down the column to the switch went south and broke into a few pcs.
Binding up is what most likely killed the lock set then the rest went afterwards.
So I am patiently waiting for the IDIDIT column I just ordered.
