You are probably a lot younger then I am but I couldn't jump out there & turn the engine with a crank each time I wanted to turn it a little. That low comp. 216 you should be able to just grab the flywheel & turn it. If you use the alignment tool the trans should go right in, although sometimes those plastic things are off just enough that it won't. Then you hook up the linkage & release the clutch & it should slide right in.
I'm going to have my 58 at the show in Bonner Springs Saturday. Come out if you have a chance. It is always a great show at a neat facility.
