Hey Hot Rod Dad here is a thought for making your steering shims if you have a hole saw kit cut some pucks out of the appropriate thickness steel plate. This works well for spacers for most anything and the round puck from the center of the hole saw will have a pilot hole in the center that can be redrilled to desired size.
