For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 438 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 438 | I am putting the hood back on my 49 Suburban. It seems the hood lock bolt is too short to fully engage and catch on the lock plate. The safety catch is aligned and engages as it should. The front of the hood is touching the top of the grill so it doesn't seem to be the issue. I have had all the front sheet metal off the truck but everything looks to be aligned as far as fenders grill etc. goes. The hood latch bolt has 1/4 inch of thread showing at top of bolt that could be adjusted to lengthen the bolt but wanted to ask for any suggestions to see if I am missing something. Any other thoughts?
