i was helping a friend with his 53 6400 fire truck. he said the right front hub chewed up a bearing. so i remove the wheel/tire and hub off and he was right the inner bearing was completely gone, supprizingly the spindle is in fairly good shape. he has a 52-53 6100 across town and we go fetch the drum hub assembly. went to install it and the drum/hub assembly makes contact with the shoulder of the spindle before its completely in place.
was there more than one spindle/bearing between a 53 6400 and 52/53 6100?
